Our Church

1.MISSION

The object of this church shall be  the maintenance of  membership worship, the proclamation of the Gospel in Spirit and  in Truth for the evangelizaton of the world, the administration of the New Testament, and the edification of the believers of this local church in Christ. The main purpose of Old  Paths  Baptist  Church  is  to  win  souls  to  Jesus  Christ.  Thus,  it shall  be our duty and responsibility  to  attempt to  win every person who visits our premises. No meetings of any kind will  be  held  unless  there  is  ample  opportunity  for  the  Gospel  (I Corinthians 15:1-4)  to  be presented and an invitation given. This  shall include wedding  reheasals, as well as the wedding ceremony, and all meetings conducted at the Old Paths Baptist Church.

2.DOCTRINE

  • THE GOD HEAD: We  believe in  the triune  God. The  Scriptures reveal  one and only one  living and  true God,  infinite and  intelligent Spirit,  the Creator and supreme ruler of Heaven and  earth, eternally existing  in three  persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but one in  substance, essence and power though executing  distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (John 4:24; Matthew 28:19; I John 5:6-7)

  • JESUS  CHRIST:  We  believe  in  the  deity  of  our  Lord  Jesus  Christ,  God's  Only Begotten Son, our  sole mediator; we further believe in His Pre-Existence, His Incarnation by  the  power  of  the  Holy Ghost, His  Virgin Birth, His  Sinless Life, His  Vicarious and Atoning Death through His shed Blood, His  Burial in  the tomb,  His Bodily  Resurrection from the grave, His Bodily Ascension, His present Intercessory Work before the throne of the Father, His  Imminent, Pre-tribulational  and  Pre-Millennial  coming  from  Heaven  to rapture the believers, and His Personal, Visible coming  in power and  glory to set  up His Kingdom.  (John 8:58; John 10:33;  Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23;  Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews  7:25 ;   Ephesisan  1:7 ;   Colossians  1:14 ;   John  20:25-29 ;   Acts  2:31-32;
    I Thessalonians 4:13-17)

  • THE HOLY SPIRIT:  We  believe that  the Holy  Spirit is a divine personality, and not a mere  emanation, influence  or force; equal  with the Father and the Son, and of the same esence and  nature; that He is  Almighty, merciful and just; that He is holy, righteous and true;  that  He  is  eternally  existent,  glorious  in  nature,  possessing  the  attributes  of omnipotence,  omniscience,  and omnipresence;  that He was active  in the creation; that He  restrains  the world,  the flesh and the Devil;  that He witnesses to the truth, converts the  lost,  extolls  Christ,  and  testifies  to  the  righteous  judgments  of  God; that He is harmony   with   His   divine   office,  comforts,   teaches,   testifies,   preaches,   guides, regenerates,  empowers,  sanctifies,  and annoints, thus exercising the quickening role in the  work  of  saving  the  lost,  and  the  supervising role in the life of the saved. (Genesis 1:26; John 16:8; I Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:1-4; 10-16).

  • THE HOLY SCRIPTURES:  We  believe  the Holy Scriptures (King James Bible 1611), the sixty-six  books of the  Old and New  Testaments  alnoe  and  in  their  entirety  to be complete,  final, and  the only revealed Word  of God to  His Church, and accept them as verbally  inspired  of God from  Genesis 1:1  to Revelation 22:21,  inerrant so as to be the supreme  authority in  all matters  of faith  and practice. We believe these sixty-six books are  God-preserved for the  English-speaking people  in the King  James 1611 Authorized Version.  We believe  that the  old blessed King  James is the  infallible,  inerrant Word of God, wherein  all our beliefs  are firmly grounded. The King James Bible 1611 constitutes our only  and final authoritative, infallible rule in all matters of faith and practice. (Make no mistake- we shall never compromise in this area. We are King James Bible only!) We, as a church, agree  if the Pastor would change direction from this position or any doctines of Article II,  Section 2,  the Pastor  automatically  resigns his position at Old Paths Baptist Church.  The  Deacons  have the authority  to call  a business  meeting  to  terminate the Pastor solely based  upon the Pastor's  compromise on the Doctines in Article II, Section 2 of this constitution. (I Peter 1:21; II Timothy 3:16)

  • THE FALL: We believe that in the beginning God created man in His own image totally without  sin;  but, through  the  temptation of  Satan  (we believe that the Devil is real, the "prince of  the power  of the  air" and the "god of this world". We believe we should attack him  every chance  we get.),  Adam  trangressed  the  command of God, and that by this transgression  all men  fell from  this original  holiness and  righteousness and as a result are  sinful  by  nature (Romans 12:5-19) and  at  enmity  (corrupt  and  wholly opposed to God's law)  against  God  (Romans 8:7-8).  Therefore,  regeneration  by  the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to the salvation of man. (Romans 8:9,13, 14)

  • SALVATION: We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human  merit,  works, or  ceremonies. We  believe  that  salvation  of sinners is by God's grace  through  faith  in  the   death,  burial,  and   resurrection  of  Jesus Churist  and  is accomplished by  His blood atonement. One must repent  of their sins and receive Christ as Saviour. We further believe in the preservation of the saints. (Romans 1:17; John 3:36; Hebrews 9:22)

  • THE CHURCH: We  believe  a  local  New  Testament  Church  to  be  an assembly of disciples, immersed  upon profession  of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, united in the belief of  what He has said, and covenanting to do what He has commanded. We further believe that  the  local  church  under  the  Holy  Spirit  is  autonomous   and   congregational  in operation, being free from interference by any ecclesisastical or civil authority.

  • BELIEVER'S BAPTISM:  We  believe  that  Believer's  Baptism  is  an ordinance of the Lord  Jesus Christ  given to the church,  and obligatory  upon  every  believer  (though not essential to salvation), wherin he/she is (after having made a public profession) immersed in water  in the name  of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as a sign of his/her fellowship  with  the death, burial,  and resurrection of Christ,  of remission of sins, and of his/her  giving  himself/herself  up  to  God,  to  live  and  walk in newness of life. It is pre-requisite to church membership. (Romans 6:5)

  • THE LORD'S SUPPER:  We believe that the Lord's Supper is an ordinance of the Lord Jesus Christ  give n to  the church to  be observed until he comes. We believe that it is in no sense a sacrament, but is designed to commemorate His death, to confirm the faith of Christians,  and  to  be  a bond, pledge, and renewal of their communion with Him, and of their  Church  fellowship.  Above all,  it  ought  to  be  done in remembrance of His broken body and His blood shed as the pruchase price of our eternal salvation.

  • THE RESURRECTION:   We   believe  in  the   resurrection  of  the  human  body,  the resurrecton and  judgment of both the saved and the lost - the saved unto the resurrection of  life in  Heaven to  eternal reward and  the lost unto the resurrection of damnation in the lake of  fire eternally; in divine judgments, and punishments. (Daniel 12:2; Romans 14:10-12; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:34-36)

  • LAST THINGS: We believe in that blessed hope, the coming of the Lord Jesus to meet the  resurrected  and  translated  saints  in  the  air. We believe that this event, called the Rapture,  will  be followed  by  the tribulation  of the seventieth week of Daniel's prophecy, culmination in the  Revelation of Jesus  Christ at His  coming  with His saints. We believe that  upon  subduing  the  nations  of  the  World  at  the  Battle  of  Armageddon,  he will establish his Millennial Reign upon the throne of His father David.
